Biography
As a doctoral student in curriculum and instruction at University of Houston, my research interest surrounds Latinx family engagement and bilingual education. I am particularly interested in examining culturally and linguistically responsive approaches to help Latinx bilingual students’ education and development and the influence of socio-cultural factors on the family engagement in diverse school communities. Through my scientific training and teaching experience -national and internationally- I have increased my knowledge and experience surrounding bi-literacy development, high-quality bilingual programs specially in Early Childhood levels for Latinx bilingual children.
