Claudia C. Rinaldi

Biography

Claudia Rinaldiā€™s research addresses the implementation of Multi-Tier
System of Support (MTSS) in urban settings and with English language learners. Her
experience engages school leaders and educators on how to improve systems and
instructional practices for students with reading difficulties who are experiencing
failure, and those who are English language learners and who may have mild and
moderate disabilities. Claudia has authored several peer-reviewed publications and a
book for educators called Practical Ways to Engage All Struggling Readers.  Claudia
also serves on the Professional Advisory Board for the National Center of Learning
Disabilities and the parent and teacher website called Understood.org. Her recent
work has been on developing a graduate certificate program in Teaching Bilingual
Students with Disabilities for general, ESL and special education teachers geared
towards bringing research to practice in the field, and developing a mentoring
curriculum called Pathways to Teacher Diversity for districts and teacher education
programs to identify minority students interested in teaching careers
